The region’s nine community colleges, partnering as the Community College Petrochemical Initiative (CCPI), are inviting women across the Gulf Coast to explore options in the petrochemical industry during a day-long event on Thursday, March 24 at the Moody Gardens Convention Center in Galveston.

The 2022 Women in Industry conference will allow those in attendance to discover a wide variety of career opportunities available in the petrochemical and construction trade industries.

The event is from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., and the cost, which includes breakfast and lunch, is $20.

会议将有机会倾听并达到在这些行业取得成功的不同女性,以及与行业赞助商的能力。会议的目的是提供相关信息,以帮助一个人在石化产业中开始职业生涯。

The conference is designed for all women — the unemployed, underemployed, high school and college students, veterans and women in transition.

During breaks, participants will have time to talk to industry representatives from ExxonMobil, Worley, BASF, Dow, Phillips, Occidental, Zachry, Houston Gulf Coast Building & Construction Trades Council and many others.

The day will end with “how to get hired” sessions sponsored by the area’s nine community colleges, which include Brazosport College, Alvin Community College, College of the Mainland, Galveston College, Houston Community College, Lee College, Lone Star College, San Jacinto College and Wharton County Junior College. These sessions will provide valuable information about financial aid, childcare, fast-track courses, and certificate and associate degree options.

Dress is business casual, and the event is only open to individuals 16 years of age and over.
